Consultation: Possible Burial Ground Extension

burial ground extension

The Parish Council wants to know what residents think about a possible burial ground extension in Dodington.

A paper survey is being delivered to all homes in Dodington Parish during December 2024.  You can also complete the survey online – please see below.  Survey closed end of January 2025.

Dodington Parish Council is asking residents about a possible burial ground extension and whether you would or wouldn’t want to see your Council Tax increased to fund this.

Dodington Parish Council is responsible for the closed church yard next to St Peter’s Church, Wapley. Since the 1960s, the Parish Council has operated a burial facility in part of a field next to the closed church yard.

The 13th century church still welcomes worshippers and hosts weddings, baptisms, funerals and burials. The church sits high on Wapley Hill, offering spectacular views of the countryside below.

The Parish Council is asking Dodington residents about whether they would like the burial ground next to the church extended, if suitable land can be found and purchased.
