Update from National Highways:
M4 junctions 17 to 19 – overnight closures for resurfacing
We’ll carry out our work in phases using lane and full closures starting from the evening of Monday 29 July.
This work will take place weeknights, between 8pm and 6am only, when there’s less traffic on the road.
Closure information
We’ll start our work on the evening of Monday 29 July with lane closures on the M4 between junction 17 and 18, weeknights from 8pm and 6am each night, at least one lane will remain open in each direction.
We’ll then work our way along the carriageway and slips roads between junctions 17 and 19 using a mixture of lane and full closures.
Our first full closure will be the westbound carriageway between junctions 17 and 18 on Tuesday 6 August, 9pm to 6am. A diversion will be in place via the A350, A420 and A46.
We’ll be posting information about what section is closed and when on our dedicated webpage: nationalhighways.co.uk/m4j17to19. It will take us up to four months to complete these improvements.
This work is subject to favourable weather conditions, for example heavy rain may affect the progress.
